Job Overview
Tekberry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Technician II to support cleanroom optical ribbon and fiber optic cable manufacturing for our client a global leader in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies. This hands-on technical role focuses on process optimization equipment troubleshooting and supporting high-volume production in a rapidly growing manufacturing environment.
The Process Technician II will serve as a technical resource on the production floor contributing to process stability continuous improvement initiatives and production scale-up efforts while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
Process & Equipment Support
Operate monitor and optimize cleanroom-based optical ribbon and fiber optic cable manufacturing processes
Perform advanced setup calibration and troubleshooting of ribbonization fiber handling and bonding equipment
Lead process start-ups line qualifications and product changeovers
Diagnose and resolve complex quality issues including attenuation ribbon geometry fiber alignment and bonding integrity
Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols SOPs and safety requirements
Monitor in-line and off-line quality metrics and drive corrective actions
Ensure compliance with ISO Telcordia/GR IEC and customer specifications
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Continuous Improvement
Analyze process data using SPC and manufacturing systems to improve yield throughput and uptime
Support Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives
Assist with new equipment installation process transfers and plant expansion efforts
Technical Leadership
Serve as a technical mentor to Process Technicians and Operators
Provide hands-on training and technical guidance without direct people management responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned processes or equipment
Must-Have Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred
2 3 years of experience in optical fiber ribbon or precision manufacturing
Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and contamination control
Hands-on experience with optical fiber handling ribbonization and precision equipment
Proficiency in SPC MES and process data analysis
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation specifications and procedures
Strong troubleshooting communication and mentoring skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-count or rollable ribbon fiber products
Knowledge of Telcordia GR-20 GR-409 GR-326 and IEC standards
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
Experience supporting rapid production scale-up in a cleanroom environment
Work Environment
100% onsite at Corning Trivium Facility in Newton NC
Day shift in a controlled cleanroom optical manufacturing environment
Requires extended periods on the production floor
Exposure to precision equipment fiber materials and cleanroom processes
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform fine motor tasks and handle delicate fiber components
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to wear cleanroom garments for the duration of the shift
Additional Notes
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on production demands
This is a hands-on non-management technical role with growth potential in advanced manufacturing
