Research and Development Engineer

The Research and Development Engineer at MED Institute will be responsible for application of engineering principles to research and develop various medical devices based on client needs. These responsibilities include completing project deliverables and tasks to support the evaluation of medical devices and creation of novel medical device concepts through collaboration with external clients and upon request with other Cook companies.

• Understand client expectations while driving towards scientific excellence.
• Interact with management technical leadership and clients to plan complete analyze and report results of experiments tests prototype development literature reviews etc.
• Assure that project deliverables and tasks are technically excellent and completed in a timely fashion.
• Document deliverables.
• Assure that appropriate documentation is kept detailing project history (reports laboratory notebooks invention disclosures scientific literature meeting notes deliverables etc.).
• Maintain and develop the technical capabilities necessary to provide technical solutions to clients.
• Understand the intellectual property process and how it is established harvested characterized and protected

• Technical skills and knowledge: PhD in Biomedical Engineering
• Experience working for an imaging capital equipment manufacturer and a contract research organization.
• Experience developing and prototyping wearable radio-frequency coils for various MRI field strengths/frequencies for imaging and/or spectroscopy.
• Innovative: Proven ability to innovate in the development of novel concepts and creating solutions to technical problems with an eye towardproviding practical solutions in a timely manner.
• Task Oriented: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan prioritize and coordinate the completion of deliverables and tasks.
