The Human Resources Assistant under supervision processes and maintains forms and records provides detailed administrative information and assists customers with HR processes procedures or services.
A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19 2025 imposes a $100000 fee on all new H1B petitions filed after September 21 2025 and Texas A&M UniversityCentral Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27 2026 restricts the filing of new H1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accordingly if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
Responsibilities:
Schedules appointments greets customers answers telephone and distributes delivers and picks up mail for the department.
Assists new-hire employees with paperwork completion.
Assists in the processing of employee background checks and employment applications.
Examines employee files to answer inquiries. Provides information to authorized persons.
Assists with HR projects new hire orientation and wellness initiatives
Supports records imaging and maintains personnel and medical files.
Updates and maintains the university organizational chart directory & departmental newsletter.
Compiles data from personnel records and HR Systems and prepares reports.
Coordinates the orders for name tags and assist with departmental email account requests
Supports compliance efforts by assisting the Assistant Director with mandatory training notifications
Assist with data management and reporting.
Processes invoices for payment.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience One year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in Human Resources.
Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Emma) and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva).
Knowledge of Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Licensing / Professional Certification None.

Supervision of Others
This position generally does not supervise employees.
Hours: Up tp 19.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.
Salary: $15.00
