Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support payroll operations for both hourly and salaried employees. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate payroll processing maintain data integrity and assist with payroll-related reporting and audits.
Schedule & Work Hours
- Shift: 6:30 AM 5:00 PM
- Schedule: 4 days per week (4x10-hour shifts)
- No weekends or on-call requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Assist with entry and processing of wage garnishments
- Prepare and process payroll transfer reports
- Ensure accurate benefit deductions and payroll adjustments
- Conduct audits to verify payroll accuracy and data integrity
- Maintain payroll records and documentation
- Support leadership with accounting and payroll-related projects
- Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of payroll or related experience
- Basic understanding of payroll processes and compliance
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll systems or HRIS platforms
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax withholdings
- Prior experience in a corporate or public sector environment
