Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical / Surgical
Location: Utica NY United States
Position Type: Travel Contract
Schedule & Shift Details:
- Night Shift
- 06:30 PM 07:00 AM
- 3 12-hour shifts per week
- Guaranteed weekly hours
- Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Floating required
Work Setting:
- Medical / Surgical Unit
- Patient Population: Adult patients
- Common Cases: Post-surgical care including abdominal pain fractures osteoarthritis bariatric cases and back pain
Job Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in post-operative care and capable of managing a diverse adult patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg patients
- Monitor and assess patient conditions especially post-surgical cases
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Manage equipment such as IV pumps NG tubes and feeding tubes
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Respond to patient needs and changes in condition
- Float to other units as required
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Strong clinical and patient care skills
