- The S&P Global Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and Process COE is a new and growing organization created to foster and lead transformative change across the enterprise. Role Summary & Impact-
- The Reporting & Insights Lead plays a critical leadership role in shaping and scaling the EPMO reporting and analytics capability. This role is responsible for leading high-performing data engineering and analytics teams defining and executing technical reporting strategy and ensuring the delivery of accurate performant and business-critical insights that support enterprise technology and transformation initiatives.
- Combining hands-on technical leadership with people and platform ownership the Reporting & Insights Lead directly influences how portfolio program and governance data is produced consumed trusted and leveraged across the enterprise. The role partners closely with Program Managers Portfolio Management Finance and enterprise reporting and technology organizations to consolidate reporting requirements deliver governance-ready insights and progressively mature reporting capabilities over time.
- Operating within a newly established EPMO capability this role requires comfort with ambiguity evolving data maturity and interim solutions. Early impact is driven through disciplined execution strong technical judgment and pragmatic delivery while steadily introducing automation quality controls and scalable reporting patterns to improve efficiency reliability and decision-making support at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Program & Governance Reporting
- Own delivery of portfolio- and program-level reporting for EPMO-governed initiatives supporting leadership decision-making and governance forums.
- Translate reporting needs from Program Managers Portfolio Management and Finance into consistent dashboards scorecards and executive views.
- Ensure reporting outputs are decision-ready with clear definitions consistent metrics and appropriate caveats.
In-Tool / Native Reporting Enablement
- Enable and enhance in-tool and native reporting (e.g. Smartsheets dashboards and rollups) to reduce manual consolidation and improve timeliness.
- Establish reusable patterns and standards for in-tool reporting to improve adoption and comparability across initiatives.
Technical Management & Delivery Leadership
- Lead and manage reporting analytics and data engineering contributors (directly and/or via matrixed teams) providing technical direction and mentorship.
- Remain hands-on in critical delivery areas including pipeline design performance optimization troubleshooting and code reviews.
- Promote Agile delivery continuous improvement and accountability for technical quality and outcomes.
Platform Ownership & Enterprise Partnership
- Own end-to-end delivery of EPMO reporting and insights solutions from requirements through production support.
- Own selected reporting platforms or solutions where EPMO is accountable and partner with Enterprise Technology Digital Solutions and Architecture teams where platforms are shared.
- Collaborate with Data Governance and Architecture teams to ensure aligned data inputs security and compliance.
Architecture Quality & Operational Excellence
- Design build and maintain reliable performant analytics and reporting solutions with appropriate latency and scalability.
- Establish and enforce best practices including coding standards reusable frameworks metadata-driven design and standardized reporting patterns.
- Ensure strong data quality controls observability monitoring and proactive issue resolution across reporting solutions.
- Clearly communicate architectural decisions trade-offs risks and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Automation & Capability Maturity
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting effort through automation and improved design.
- Apply AI-assisted reporting and analytics capabilities pragmatically to improve cycle time consistency and insight generation as maturity increases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- 1014 years of experience in software engineering or analytics engineering with strong foundations in system design and engineering best practices.
- 8 years of hands-on experience building scalable analytics and reporting solutions in enterprise environments.
- 4 years designing and implementing analytics solutions using Power BI Tableau or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling data warehousing concepts and advanced SQL.
- Experience managing cloud-based analytics solutions (AWS Azure or GCP) including security and cost optimization.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration metadata-driven design and data governance practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills including mentoring engineers and working across teams.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lakehouse technologies such as Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation).
- Experience implementing observability and monitoring for analytics and reporting pipelines.
- Familiarity with microservices containerization and CI/CD practices as applied to analytics delivery.
