Were seeking a dedicated and nurturing School Nurse to join our team - someone who not only understands the critical connection between health and academic success but who leads with heart professionalism and purpose.
Position Overview
As the School Nurse youll play a pivotal role in supporting the health needs of our scholars across the ARLCS campuses. You will manage day-to-day health care needs administer medications respond to emergencies educate staff on health best practices and be a trusted presence for scholars and families alike.
Scope of Work
Provide direct nursing services first aid illness and emergency care to students and staff in accordance with professional standards school policies and state regulations
Administer prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by a licensed physician
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA
Coordinate care with families community agencies and school personnel to ensure continuity of care
Implement communicable disease prevention and infection control protocols
Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement health-related policies and crisis intervention plans
Provide health education and promote wellness initiatives for scholars and staff
Support compliance with state immunization and health screening requirements
Participate in IEP/504 Plan development and contribute to the evaluation of medically involved students
Qualifications
Required:
Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Arkansas
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferably in pediatrics school nursing or public health
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Experience in school or community health settings
Knowledge of child development chronic disease management and trauma-informed practices
Ability to effectively communicate with children families and interdisciplinary teams
Bilingual skills a plus!
