Position Summary: |
The Product Specialist develops and executes key projects within the assigned product line (fitting valves semiconductor etc). This role collaborates across the organization to help advance Swageloks product portfolio performance price and promotional strategies. It supports technology trend monitoring it reactively or proactively performs commercial data analysis and product management processes to help realize the product lines commercial goals which align to the commercial strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: |
- Executes project activities which advance product strategy. These project activities may include:
- Collection and analysis of customer market and competitive perspectives in support of product line vision or strategic initiatives.
- Develop and provide analysis to support segmentation and product family roadmaps
- Compile and analyze growth and profitability metrics for product line
- Participate in the development of pricing strategies pricing models and price update initiatives
- Assist in the contribution and delivering training for sales and service centers relative to product and service capabilities
- Independently extracts and analyzes internal data and market intelligence to aid the product team in making key decisions including new product assessment price adjustments availability changes and other actions
- Responsible for compiling customer feedback and financial information to support product line assessments new product development and pricing position adjustments.
- Monitors competitive product line and technology trends within specific market segments and applications.
- Gathers market insights on competition through internal testing and external literature pricing & social media reviews to feed into development or adjustment of product strategies
- Identifies and drives improvements for product management processes to capture and report on customer channel and business insights.
- Anticipates and initiates change responding resourcefully and constructively to new processes and priorities; works to overcome any barriers to change. Actively looks across service groups and our channel for opportunities to support the fluctuating demands of our business.
- Establishes and maintains peer relationships throughout the organization in order to advance product line strategies

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: |
Education: BS/BA in technical or business field.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years experience with manufacturing customer operations product management supply chain finance and/or marketing.
- Familiarity with industrial product markets and distribution sales model is beneficial.
Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Above average analytical skills and project management capabilities.
- Above average ability to prioritize and focus efforts to achieve goals.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: |
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards.
- Travel: 5-15%
