Overview
Job Summary:The Security Vulnerability Remediation Specialist 4 is an advanced Infrastructure Operations role demonstrating mastery in assessing remediating automating and sustaining security vulnerability fixes across Hylands enterprise infrastructure. This role leads complex remediation initiatives across servers networks identity platforms cloud infrastructure and endpoint systems while resolving conflicts independently. The role serves as a subject matter expert partnering with Cyber Security for vulnerability intelligence while driving innovative solutions and mentoring cross-functional teams in remediation best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead the assessment and validation of complex vulnerability findings from Cyber Security and threat intelligence sources; proactively identify risks determine remediation strategies and drive resolution for high-priority vulnerabilities.
Execute and oversee complex remediation activities including patching configuration changes upgrades and mitigation controls across enterprise infrastructure resolving conflicts and dependencies independently.
Design develop and implement innovative automation solutions and scripting frameworks to streamline remediation workflows improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention across Infrastructure-managed systems.
Drive collaboration with Infrastructure Support Engineering and leadership teams to address recurring vulnerability patterns implement preventive protocols and influence infrastructure architecture decisions.
Oversee vulnerability remediation queues SLAs and metrics; make well thought-out decisions on prioritization and resource allocation that impact team and departmental outcomes.
Create and refine team processes standards and remediation playbooks in alignment with team vision and strategy; provide input and feedback on team direction and strategic initiatives.
Provide advanced mentoring coaching and training to team members; serve as a mentor to cross-functional teams and provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities and development opportunities.
Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends; provide general consulting services leveraging expertise and significant best practice knowledge.
Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends.
Mentor coach train and provide feedback to other team members; provide feedback to leadership on abilities of team.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
5 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration with focus on vulnerability remediation.
Extensive experience with vulnerability scanning and risk platforms (e.g. Rapid7 Qualys or similar).
Proven experience with endpoint management patch orchestration and configuration enforcement tools (WSUS MECM Intune).
Experience leading remediation initiatives in regulated or security-focused enterprise environments.
Advanced experience with infrastructure as code and automation frameworks.
Experience mentoring team members and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Microsoft Windows and Office proficient

Excellent knowledge of Systems and Platforms including Windows Server (Active Directory Azure Entra ID Group Policy DNS LDAP); Linux administration and patching at scale.
Excellent knowledge of Identity & Access including Active Directory (AD DS) Azure Entra ID Group Policy service accounts security groups and privileged access management.
Excellent knowledge of Cloud and Virtualization including Microsoft Azure (compute networking security controls policy); Virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V) at enterprise scale.
Excellent knowledge of Networking & Security including firewalls (Palo Alto Azure Firewall); TCP/IP DNS DHCP routing network segmentation and security architecture.
Excellent knowledge of Endpoint & Management Tools including Microsoft Intune SCCM and enterprise endpoint configuration and compliance tooling.
Excellent knowledge of Automation & Scripting including PowerShell Python Bash; infrastructure as code and orchestration frameworks.
