Center for Regional Agriculture Food and Transformation (CRAFT) seeks a Communication and Event Coordinator for a USDA funded Local Food Promotion Program grant. This position will support the communications efforts of the Center while assisting in event planning tasks for a day-long food systems event in September. At CRAFT we center community in our pursuit of transformative regional food systems that value the people who live and work within them. We envision a food system that is equitable fostering fairness and transparency across the value chain. T

his is a 15hr/week position for a total of 225 hrs for the summer 2026 semester. Pay is $18/hour.

Qualifications:

Required :

Ability to self-manage time self-start and work independently on a time-sensitive project

Comfort in event planning and support meeting facilitation and previous experience in social media content management

Organization and attention to detail.

Experience in any or all of the following preferred:

An understanding of communication strategy data gathering grant implementation event promotion and execution.

Food systems non-profit or similar work

Canva Google Workspace or other design and collaboration platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in general communication efforts for the Center by crafting newsletters social media posts event registrations and preparing and posting other communications efforts. Work with the team to plan and execute a regional event that brings together food business owners retail locations institutional purchasers technical assistance providers and others to share information provide resources and make connections. This position includes leading planning meetings coordinating logistics day-of support and other related duties.

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
