The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise patient care skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in interventional radiology procedures using imaging guidance.
Prepare and maintain sterile fields and equipment.
Operate radiologic imaging equipment during procedures.
Monitor patient condition and ensure safety throughout procedures.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and clinical teams.
Maintain accurate documentation using systems such as Epic Systems.
Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control standards.
Schedule & Work Environment
Day shifts (8-hour shifts)
Full-time schedule (5 days per week)
Acute care hospital setting
Weekend availability required
On-call requirements:
One weekday call per week (4:00 PM 7:00 AM)
One three-day weekend call per month (FridaySunday coverage)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
Active state license (required at submission)
Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience with Epic Systems
