Pay: $27.09/hr $37.92/hr
Shift & Schedule: Evenings or Nights Rotating Weekends
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) to join a hospital-based laboratory team. This role is responsible for performing routine and stat laboratory testing supporting multiple laboratory disciplines ensuring quality standards and delivering accurate diagnostic results that support patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and stat laboratory testing according to established procedures and regulatory standards.
Rotate and maintain competency across Blood Bank Chemistry and Hematology departments.
Analyze interpret and validate laboratory test results.
Perform quality control procedures and maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
Assist with specimen collection processing and referral testing activities as needed.
Troubleshoot testing issues and resolve laboratory workflow concerns.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
Support turnaround time goals and departmental quality initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation and safety requirements.
Collaborate with laboratory staff physicians and healthcare teams to support patient care.
Function independently during evening night and off-shift operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Florida Medical Technologist License.
Associate Degree in Medical Technology with formal clinical training.
National certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP preferred).
Licensure in at least three core laboratory disciplines.
Strong knowledge of Blood Bank Chemistry and Hematology testing.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
Minimum 3 years of hospital laboratory experience.
Direct Blood Bank experience.
Experience working as a laboratory generalist.
Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
