Job Description:
The Engineering Manager position requires a skilled engineering leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders and will demonstrate strong organizational leadership. This position requires experience interfacing with both program management and technical teams to lead an organization focused on developing and maintaining cutting-edge air traffic surveillance systems.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy while fostering an engaged high-performance team capable of excelling in collaboration innovation and responsiveness to customer and business needs.
- Oversee engineering resource planning and project management ensuring that project teams meet customer commitments within allocated budgets and schedules.
- Identify and drive strategic initiatives aimed at improving the overall performance of the engineering organization.
- Deliver comprehensive presentations in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Enforce engineering discipline and rigor to ensure quality and disciplined execution across all engineering activities including program IR&D project and engineering gate reviews.
- Provide mentorship technical guidance and growth opportunities for both engineering and management staff within the organization.
- Attract hire retain and grow top talent fostering a cohesive culture that emphasizes innovation creativity execution transparency and collaboration.
- Oversee critical elements of the bid and proposal process including technical and cost baseline reviews and basis of estimate approvals.
- Contribute to new business initiatives by cultivating cross-functional relationships in business development and ensuring strategic alignment across business areas.
- Ability to obtain an FAA Position of Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science/Aerospace Physics or related science an engineering field with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 10 years of system life-cycle development experience with aerospace and telecommunication systems including system design development integration analysis and verification. Direct experience with FAA surveillance systems.
- RTCA DO-278 compliance experience.
- Experience with micro services architecture and cloud architecture.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Experience in air surveillance systems including radar sensors and data fusion technologies.
