Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Athletics

Salary

$40000 commensurate with experience.

Primary Duties

• Assist with development and preparation of offensive practice and game plans.

• Provide instruction to players.

• Coach players individually and in groups monitor academic progress and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.

• Identify evaluate and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the universitys academic and athletic requirements.

• Assist with academic support monitoring study table mentoring cohort and serve as liaison to the Laker Academic Success Center.

• Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.

• Ensure the program adheres to all NCAA conference and university rules and regulations.

• Serve as a GVSU ambassador engage with media and participate in fundraising and community events.

• Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

• Bachelors Degree.

• Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.

• A thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA rules and regulations.

• Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NCAA compliance with the highest ethical standards.

• Driving a company/university vehicle may be required. A valid drivers license is a requirement and an MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Preferred

• Experience coaching basketball players at the collegiate or commensurate level.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Nights weekends and travel are required.
