1st Class Shipfitter Day Shift (Full-Time)

Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced 1st Class Shipfitter for full-time day shift work in Houma LA. This role involves layout fitting and assembling structural components in a shipyard or marine environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented safety-focused and able to work from drawings with minimal supervision.
Must-Haves
- 3 years shipfitting experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
- Experience with layout fitting and tacking steel structures
- Knowledge of hand tools power tools and measuring devices
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and specifications
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Commitment to safety and PPE
Preferred
- Shipyard or marine fabrication experience
- Ability to tack weld
- Experience with burning beveling and plate prep
- Rigging knowledge
- TWIC card or ability to obtain
- Leadership or crew lead experience
