The Opportunity
Airbus DS Government Solutions Inc is seeking two Engineering Interns for the summer of 2026. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in satellite systems design and engineering at a leading defense and space technology company. Youll work on-site at our Plano Texas facility collaborating with experienced engineers and contributing to innovative projects that matter.
What Youll Do
As an Engineering Intern you will participate in satellite systems design engineering support services and training activities under the mentorship of senior-level engineers and managers. Youll deliver engineering services including design testing troubleshooting and analysis while working alongside peers to drive innovative program solutions. This role offers the opportunity to complete meaningful engineering projects in a timely thorough and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to team members including testing system design troubleshooting and documenting solutions using principles of electrical engineering physics and material science
- Ensure system and product quality by designing test methods testing finished products and system capabilities and confirming assembly and installation processes
- Prepare technical reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends
- Troubleshoot design and fabrication problems with electrical and electromechanical systems identify root causes and develop creative and pragmatic solutions
- Stay aware of current state-of-the-art technologies and trends in electrical or mechanical engineering and suggest product improvement ideas
- Support other miscellaneous duties as assigned
What Were Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
- Strong hands-on electrical or mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of basic computer networking
- Experience with software tools such as Python
- Ability to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as a member of cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple tasks
- U.S. citizenship
Nice-to-Have Skills
- RF (Radio Frequency) knowledge
- Experience with CAD design software (Solidworks AutoCAD Draftsight Visio or similar)
