Mechanical Engineering Technician Intern

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

• Supports MFG engineers
• develops and maintains manufacturing methods and processes
• Performs root cause analysis and develops and implements robust solutions in accordance with the business priorities of Safety Quality Delivery (timeliness) and Continuous Improvement.
• Creates and maintains work routings and work instruction.
• Reviews and analyzes inspection and manufacturing data including test and inspection data manufacturing process data and inspection correlations.
• Participate in Sonnax Daily Management System and problem solving with continuous improvement projects to achieve business objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

• Enrolled in an accredited Engineering Bachelors degree program.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Solid Works. MS Office suite including spreadsheets.
• Ability to learn and use a computer based ERP program GD & T Quality Management Systems ISO9001 Continuous Improvement Lean Six Sigma methodologies process knowledge of machining processes and inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of automotive drivetrain technology is desired but not required.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in and around a manufacturing environment and have no restrictions on wearing safety footwear and protective eyewear.

Able to lift 40 Lbs.
