Associate Business Litigation (NYC or Boston)

Location: New York NY or Boston MA offices (Hybrid)Experience Level: 5 years of experience in business litigation About the Role: Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an associate to join its collaborative Business Litigation team in NYC or Boston. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators across offices and practice areas engage in sophisticated commercial disputes and take on meaningful responsibility representing clients in state and federal courts as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings. The work is fast-paced team-oriented and provides hands-on experience managing complex business litigation matters from inception through Business Litigation Associate will have the opportunity to:Represent our clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedingsTake and defend depositionsResearch various factual and legal issues and collaborate with senior attorneys about strategiesDraft memoranda pleadings discovery demands and responses motions briefs of records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations as to potential client claimsCommitment to working in a variety of commercial litigation practice areasCollaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to our clientsWork Environment and Expectations:A hybrid work opportunity in our New York NY or Boston MA officesEngagement in sophisticated commercial and business litigation on behalf of a diverse client baseMinimum annual billable requirement of 1800 hoursApplications are encouraged and desired if you have:Admission to New York or Massachusetts bar (required)Admission to Connecticut bar (preferred)Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school (required)Federal or state judicial clerkship experience (preferred)Excellent research writing and verbal communication skillsThe ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environmentStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to rapidly absorb and analyze new informationA high level of professionalism conscientiousness and responsibilityA positive flexible and cooperative attitudeMilitary experience welcomeSalary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic York City:$159000 - 185000Harris Beach Murtha is not accepting candidate submissions from recruiting agencies for this position during the first two weeks after posting.
