JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant House Manager ensures that patrons are safe and satisfied with their experience and works to support the smooth operation of house staff. The Assistant House Manager is responsible for the maintenance and management of equipment to ensure a successful and safe event.
The Assistant House Manager represents Arts & Culture ensuring a welcoming & inclusive theatre environment for all patrons and volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years of closely related customer service experience. Theater or venue experience a plus.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide excellent customer service assisting patrons while enforcing all venue policies.
- Aid our patrons with accessibility needs. i.e. wheelchair assistance ALD distribution bariatric/in-fill chair placement.
- Oversee and mentor volunteer ushers to ensure they are successfully completing all assigned duties.
- Responsible for on-site equipment troubleshooting as needed.
- Responsible for program/playbill distribution and organization.
- Monitor physical surroundings prior to and throughout events for safety cleanliness and functionality.
- Act as Assistant for the House Manager report all issues and concerns.
- Assist in the event of an emergency/evacuation.
Additional Information
Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing stairs lifting boxes of programs walking scanning tickets stooping and handling materials.
Ability to lift 40 lbs repetitively.
Ability to stand for long periods of time up to the duration of a shift.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to maintain composure under stress. Comfortable answering usher and patron questions and patient to resolve issues.
This position requires employees flexibility for Nights Weekends and holidays.

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:
An At Will FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
- Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
- Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
- Are not considered merit employees.
- Are at will employees who may be terminated for any reason without notice and without a pre-termination hearing.
