The Developer/Programmer Analyst Specialist is responsible for designing developing and implementing web-based applications using rapid prototyping methodologies. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable secure and user-friendly applications.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop design documents and SQL-driven screen prototypes.
Present prototypes to end users gather feedback and iterate designs based on usability and functionality requirements.
Convert approved prototypes into fully functional web-based applications using Adobe ColdFusion.
Develop module specifications unit test plans and system/integration test requirements.
Implement applications in iterative development cycles ensuring accessibility and usability for all users including those using assistive technologies like JAWS and NVDA.
Create flowcharts models and technical designs; perform enhancements based on testing and user feedback.
Ensure compliance with World Wide Web Consortium standards and best practices.
Develop program modules and maintain high-quality technical and user documentation.
Perform acceptance testing and implement necessary changes before production release.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in web application development.
Strong expertise in:
Adobe ColdFusion (including Fusebox 5 or newer methodology)
JavaScript and SQL
Oracle Database and PL/SQL development
Experience building browser-based transactional and reporting applications.
Knowledge of web application security and secure coding practices.
Experience generating PDF documents within web applications.
Strong understanding of:
Data modeling and entity-relationship diagrams
Database concepts such as referential integrity and normalization
User interface design for web applications
Ability to work in a multi-developer configuration-controlled environment.
