Job Summary
As a Playworker at in Dragon Club you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of St Georges Primary School mission statement of Nurturing our community through opportunities innovation and love. Your Role in Dragon Club
We are looking to appoint a reliable committed and Qualified member of the Dragon Club team to provide care guidance and support for our children during our morning and after-school wrap-around care. (7.30am - 8.50am and 3.00pm - 5.50pm Monday to Friday Term Time only)
The role involves planning and delivering an exciting range of programmes and activities for children aged 3-11 in the allocated play spaces. We require a caring committed individual who has the ability to work as part of the school team and inspire trust and confidence in children.
The post holder will also assist in the preparation serving and clearing up of refreshments with due regard to health & safety in food preparation and an awareness of the schools healthy school status and policy.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively and respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of the children. The ability to use IT equipment and navigate the schools MIS and booking systems is essential. Full training will be given. The post holder must be self-motivated flexible and a good team player who is dedicated to ensuring that Dragon Club is a pleasurable and safe experience for our children
As a Qualified Playworker you will be responsible for:
Supervising and escorting children to play areas safely ensuring they have their belongings.
Assisting in planning and delivering activities that support childrens development (intellectual physical social emotional etc.).
Promoting good behaviour and handling conflicts or incidents in line with school behaviour policies.
Helping prepare and serve refreshments following health and safety guidelines.
Setting up and cleaning equipment encouraging childrens independence whilst maintaining a safe environment for play.
Maintaining attendance registers using our booking system and ensuring children leave with the designated adult.
Reporting & recording incidents accidents and any issues concerning discipline or safety on our School MIS and to the Extended Service Manager as appropriate.
Assisting with maintaining supplies and materials for activities.
Collaborating with teachers and other staff to support childrens welfare and safety.
What Youll Bring to St Georges Primary School:
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Qualified Playworker with:
Proficiency in literacy and numeracy (GCSE level or equivalent).
NVQ2 in Playwork or Childcare Qualification (or equivalent).
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or a willingness to undertake training.
Experience working with children in a school or related environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Good communication administration and organisational skills.
Empathetic approachable and positive attitude towards children.
Understanding of childrens welfare needs.
