WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE
HYBRID Minimum 3 days/week onsite

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Provides leadership for key HMC quality initiatives and directly oversees HMCs team of Clinical Quality Analysts
Works independently and proactively collaborates with clinical operational and leadership partners to advance HMCs strategic plan for quality with an emphasis on advancing key HMC quality initiatives identified by leadership

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Harborview Medical Center - Quality Improvement

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages intake and triage of data and report requests.
  • Supports timely HMC data submission for programs including Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR) Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) and Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Reporting (IPF)
  • Leads HMC efforts to report annually on CMS eCQMs
  • Monitors benchmarking (e.g. Vizient US News WSHA Leapfrog) performance trends communicating findings with clinical leadership
  • Maintains current knowledge of related internal/external data requirements and data definitions for all assigned data elements and serves as an institutional resource related to selected internal/external data requirements
  • Provides direct analyst support to quality committees
  • Supports quality improvement functions collaborating with clinical and operational partners to plan and implement improvement initiatives and to objectively analyze outcomes
  • Networks and coordinates with other team members focused on quality and safety efforts
  • Independently abstracts and analyzes clinical care from complex medical record system as requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS in Nursing or equivalent medical field with 3 years of clinical experience
  • Must also have 3 years of recent experience with quality improvement and/or patient safety activities in a large hospital setting with direct experience facilitating hospital quality metric reporting.
  • Must have data analytics proficiency leveraging Epic reporting functionalities and data visualization platforms (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate information gathering and dissemination within a complex administrative system
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and formally present information effectively to clinical operational and leadership stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively facilitate multidisciplinary workgroups
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with complex data collection and data registry collection systems and ability to analyze data/care processes for identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Understanding of data validity chart abstraction and coding issues within the electronic medical record
  • Highly self-directed and creative
