We are looking for an Account Executive Gaming/Adtech Sales who is relationship-focused strategically minded and deeply embedded in the Japanese gaming and digital advertising landscape to join our Revenue & Partnerships team. The best candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced highly collaborative and exceptionally dynamic setting and is excited to own the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching through to close across a diverse book of gaming advertisers and publishers across Japan and the broader APAC market.

Strong commercial acumen and communication skills are essential along with experience in digital advertising sales performance marketing or gaming monetization within the Japanese market. The ability to build trust-based long-term client relationships navigate culturally nuanced business environments and manage complex deal structures will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full sales cycle for gaming ad sales accounts across Japan and the APAC region from prospecting and outreach through pitch negotiation and close with particular emphasis on relationship cultivation consistent with Japanese business practices

  • Build and maintain strong trust-based long-term relationships with game developers publishers and advertising agencies acting as the primary point of contact for Xsollas ad monetization solutions in the Japanese market

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by leveraging existing networks attending industry events and proactively targeting key accounts within Japans gaming advertising ecosystem

  • Develop tailored account plans and pitch materials that align client goals with Xsollas product offerings including offerwall rewarded ads and performance-based monetization tools localized appropriately for the Japanese market

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global product marketing and partner success teams to ensure client campaigns are delivered effectively and meet performance targets

  • Monitor campaign performance provide clients with regular reporting and insights in both Japanese and English and proactively recommend optimizations to maximize results and retention

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities pipeline status and account details in CRM (Salesforce)

  • Represent Xsolla at key gaming and ad tech conferences and trade events across Japan and APAC (e.g. Tokyo Game Show Japan IT Week Pocket Gamer Connects Tokyo BitSummit)

  • Provide market intelligence on advertiser trends competitor activity and emerging opportunities across the Japanese and APAC gaming markets

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3 years of experience in digital advertising sales ad tech gaming monetization or a closely related field within the Japanese market

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing a full sales cycle from initial engagement to close including experience navigating Japans multi-stakeholder decision-making processes

  • Strong understanding of performance advertising models (CPI CPA CPM) and the mobile gaming ecosystem with familiarity with Japans major publishers and platforms (Nintendo Sony Bandai Namco DeNA GREE mixi LINE Games)

  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken) the ability to operate fluently in both languages across client meetings presentations and internal communications is essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with an understanding of Japanese business etiquette (keigo nemawashi ringi processes) and the ability to build credibility with senior Japanese stakeholders

  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and standard sales tooling

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously and deliver consistent follow-through in line with client expectations

  • Based in or willing to relocate to Tokyo Japan; eligible to work in Japan without visa sponsorship

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with offerwall rewarded video or user acquisition advertising products in the Japanese mobile gaming space

  • Established network within Japans games industry publishers studios ad agencies or platform partners (App Store Japan Google Play Japan DMM Games)

  • Familiarity with mobile game monetization metrics (ARPU LTV ROAS D7/D30 retention) and Japan-specific monetization trends such as gacha mechanics seasonal events and IP-driven campaigns
