Planning Manager, DeviceOps Planning
Job Summary
The overall responsibility of this role is to balance product supply to consumer demand ensuring we have the right products in the right place at the right time while enabling the factory to operate efficiently and effectively.
Asia-based Planning Managers are responsible for all internal and external activities related to Supply Planning from Production Forecasting to Order Fulfillment for Amazon Devices act as the primary liaison among the Electronic Manufacturing Supplier (EMS) Amazon device in-region Operation Teams North America-based Planning Team and Device Global Planning teams to ensure Planning goals and schedule are being met. To succeed in this role you need to be data driven business oriented cost conscious and customer-centric.
Key job responsibilities
1. Facilitate production simulation to support build decisions and production forecast updates.
2. Finalize and publish the production forecast to reflect demand requirements.
3. Work out the Available-to-Ship schedule based on Clear-to-Build and capacity status.
4. Validate and monitor the EMSs build plan to fulfill the production forecast.
5. Monitor purchase order readiness to the EMS and manage EMS shipment commitments OTD performance.
6. Act as the primary liaison between the EMS upstream team and downstream team and provide timely escalation for program shipment interruptions.
7. Under supply interruption work with cross-functional teams to drive the best production plan delivery schedule and ATS plan.
8. Monitor CM production daily and understand overall production status compared to the production forecast in the factory.
A day in the life
A typical week starts with reviewing the actual production status and purchase order commitments from the EMS. You will need to balance supply and demand validate the production plan and finalize the available-to-ship plan based on the latest Clear-to-Build and factory capacity status. Through communication with strategic planning managers and global demand planning managers you will understand the demand picture reflect the right configuration mix in the production forecast update support purchase order validation and monitor order fulfillments.

- Bachelor degree or above
- 2 years of working experience basic understanding of the manufacturing process
- Comfortable with number good data analytical skills
- Good communication/presentation skill in English;
- Experienced user of MS Office specifically Excel;
- Self-driven comfortable work in ambiguity situation;
- Highly organized can handle multiple tasks;
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Master degree/higher level education;
- Experience on project management cost analysis.
- Experience on tableau report data programing SQL etc.
