Lead Product Design (mfd)
Job Summary
You will join Deezers Product & Tech organisation of 200 people including a design team of 11 designers. As Design System Manager you will own evolve and champion Tempo Deezers design system.
. This is a role for someone who wants to do both build and run working on the structural choices that shape the system while actively driving its adoption across the organisation.
What you will do:
Phase 1 Clean the system
Bring Figma libraries to a stable well-structured fully documented state
Support update or establish (if need be) manual processes: contribution flow deprecation icon addition release notes and support
Define and track health metrics for adoption and system coverage
Lay the governance foundations: office hours onboarding DS champions across teams
Re-align the design team around shared conventions and best practices to restore consistency across workstreams
Phase 2 Scale the system
Connect Tempo to Brand CRM and Marketing ensuring coherence beyond the product surface
Set up onboarding and ongoing education for contributors (training office hours playground files)
Automate processes by leveraging the Figma API: release notes doc sync parity checks
Build a Content System for copy and tone-of-voice patterns
Enable AI-assisted prototyping using clean Tempo components
Explore tools like Dust AI and Code Connect to reduce manual overhead and enable fast vibe-coding workflows on a public code-connected DS repo
Qualifications :
Hard Skills
8 years in design systems product design or design engineering
Deep Figma expertise variables auto-layout component architecture library management Code Connect
Experience writing clear structured component documentation
Familiarity with Figma API webhooks or automation scripting
Ability to understand technical aspects (design tokens Compose/Swift/React)
Experience with AI prototyping or LLM-assisted design workflows is a strong plus
Soft Skills
Strategic thinker: you can establish a vision for the design system translate it into a short and mid-term roadmap and get stakeholders to buy into it
Strong cross-functional communicator fluent in both design and engineering conversations
Autonomous and ownership-oriented: you drive subjects without waiting to be told what to do
Clear and proactive communicator: you bring structure and clarity to ambiguous topics share regular updates and know how to get stakeholders aligned and bought in
Rigorous and structured you build processes that scale not just components
Pedagogue: you write docs people actually read and you bring teams along with you
Comfortable operating without direct reports while having influence
Sharing a portfolio or case studies that could demonstrate your impact is mandatory to apply.
