Joining our Home P&U Team whoare responsible forsetting the prices for home policiesyoullutilise yourpreviousexperience in Underwriting a UK personal lines portfolio to make sure we are best-in-class.
As aBand 3 Underwriteryoullsupport the Home Underwriting team in deliveringaccurate competitive and well-governed underwriting outcomes. This isa great opportunityto build your analytical skills develop your understanding of insurance products and contribute to key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the creation and maintenance of Policy Wordingsensuring they aremeeting the needs ofourtarget marketand arecompliant from a regulatory and legislative viewpoint.
Helpcreatereviewandmaintainproduct details including question sets cover limits and product tiers ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Act as an expertin handling complex technical referrals.
Track market and claims trendsand support the team inidentifyingpotential risks or opportunities for action.
Maintain underwriting documentationincluding underwriting rulesPCW mappings and underwriting guidesand support the upkeep of our underwriting footprint.
Assistin testing underwriting changes ensuring updates are implemented correctly and efficiently.
Collaborate with colleagues across teams including Claims Trading and Pricing to support shared goals and improve customer outcomes.
Participate in team discussions and knowledge sharing contributing ideas and learning from others.
Follow governance and control processes ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Engage in learning and development building your knowledge of underwriting principles insurance products and data analysis tools.
Whatyoullneed:
Werelooking for someone eager to learn and grow within the world of insurance underwriting. Youdontneedpreviousunderwriting experiencejust the right mindset and core skills to thrive in a data-driven collaborative environment.
Experience in creation and maintenance of Policy Wordings is beneficial
Background within home insurance underwriting or operational underwriting is preferred but not essential.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills comfortable working with data spotting trends and drawing insights.
Curiosity and a willingness to learn especially around insurance products pricing and risk.
A proactive approach able to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute ideas to improve outcomes.
Great communicationand teamwork confident engaging with colleagues across different teams and levels.
A commercial mindset interested in how data and decisions impact customers and business performance.
Attention to detail and good organisational skills able to manage tasks documentation and governance requirements.
Efficiency of Excel or other analytical tools such a SQL or a willingness to learn quickly.
Our hybrid model offers a best of both worlds approach. When youll be in the office depends on your role and team but colleagues spend at least 50% of their time in the office across the month
