The purpose of this temporary role is to support the IEEE Xplore Analytics team with a variety of quantitative analyses and projects that support the IEEE Xplore content platform and IEEEs institutional products business. The scope of this role includes analysis of website metrics such as user traffic online activity consumption patterns and related metrics. The role will support the processing compilation creation and dissemination of various web analytics reports to internal and external stakeholders of IEEE. This role also involves investigating analytics data trends correlations relationships and anomalies to uncover insights on consumption patterns and trends to inform business decisions and drive user engagement. This role will function as an integral part of the IEEE Xplore Analytics team in supporting key business objectives such as usage growth and institutional customer retention.
This role may be required to assist with forward-looking projects aimed at automating analytics data gathering and reporting processes to improve efficiency and timeliness.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel Google Sheets along with the Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365. A working knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools such as PowerBI Looker Qlik Sense and Tableau will be helpful. Strong interpersonal communication skills along with effective writing and presentation skills are a must.
Key Responsibilities
Track compile analyze and produce reports on a diverse set of website activity metrics required to support business objectives and ad hoc requests from external and internal stakeholders.
Work with technical teams to define and communicate data gathering parameters requirements and related elements to ensure accurate and timely data measurement and report generation.
Create charts graphs tables and other data visualizations for inclusion in analytics presentations and reviews to senior management volunteers customers and internal stakeholders.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to present and explain analytics data creating narrative stories for diverse audiences.
Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience relevant to core functions such as data quality management auditing accounting or business administration Req.
- Analytical or quantitative course of study such as Data Science Data Analytics Finance Mathematics Quantitative Sciences or related fields.
Work Experience
- 2-4 years advanced-level hands on experience with MS Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- 1-2 years knowledge and hands-on experience with business intelligence tools and/orquantitative analysis and modeling tools.
- 1-2 years knowledge or hands on experience with Adobe Analytics or other web analytics tools
- 1-2 years familiarity and hands-on experience with creation of PowerPoint presentations that include charts graphs tables and other data visualizations
1-2 years familiarity and hands-on experience with Google sheets /slides.
Skills and Requirements
- Data Quality Management skills are preferred
- Organizational project management and analytical skills required to prioritize workload manage multiple tasks and manage data quality.
- Excellent leadership interpersonal customer service and communication skills required.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines along with the ability to work independently are required.
- Good business acumen necessary.
- He or she must be a technologically savvy worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges.
- Should have proficiency in all aspects of the Microsoft Office Suite especially Word Documents and Excel. Power Point would be a plus.
- Strong e-mail communication skills and etiquette needed to communicate with other departments.
- Knowledge of Siebel Oracle & Google packages and image processing will be a plus.
