Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Critical Care in Suffolk VA

The facility is seeking a locum Nurse Practitioner with critical care experience to support their inpatient services during a transitional period as they bring on new providers. Job Responsibilities:

• Vent management with assistance from respiratory therapists.
• Monitoring of critical care patients and assisting with decompensation cases overnight.
• Admitting new critical care patients from the emergency department hospital floors and nearby facilities.
• Performing procedures such as central line placements arterial lines and dialysis catheter insertions.
• Updating families and discussing goals of care with the medical team when patients decompensate.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) - REQUIRED
• Active Virginia license and DEA - REQUIRED
• BLS and ACLS certified - REQUIRED
• Must be available to cover specified shifts each month - REQUIRED
• Demonstrated critical care experience - REQUIRED
• Clean background necessary for temporary privileges - REQUIRED

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified NP
• Active Virginia Nursing License
• DEA Certification
• BLS and ACLS Certifications
