Whats the role

This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led tech-enabled transformation and a key priority for the Group. As Executive Manager UNITE Data Risk youll provide 2nd Line oversight of data risk and data management across all UNITE initiatives. Youll deliver expert insight challenge and assurance to divisional CROs and senior stakeholders ensuring data management quality and use risks are managed in line with Group strategy policies and risk appetite.

Youll assess data risk exposure and materiality at key delivery milestones escalate material risks and control gaps and help embed a strong risk culture in data projects.

Youll collaborate with 1st and 2nd Line teams to mature the Data Management Risk Policy and act as a key voice of risk in governance forums. This is a handson highly visible role with direct impact on the success of Westpacs largest transformation program.

This is a permanent fulltime Sydneybased role with flexible work options (3 days in office)

What do I need

  • Extensive experience in technology/data risk advisory and largescale technology portfolios
  • Strong practical knowledge of technical data management including data risk in projects system migration and decommissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and articulate data impacts (technical and business) and assess risk mitigation effectiveness
  • Experience with documenting technology controls and control assessments
  • Strong analytical communication and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant industry qualifications and an undergraduate degree (postgraduate or financial services experience highly regarded)
