Role Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (MA) to support both front-office and back-office clinical operations. This role involves direct patient interaction clinical procedures and administrative tasks in a collaborative care environment focused on patient education and quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls.
- Record patient vitals and update medical records.
- Perform phlebotomy including blood draws and specimen collection.
- Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures.
- Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Support both front and back office operations as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 23 years of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship).
Skills:
- Front and back-office clinical experience.
- Phlebotomy/venipuncture proficiency.
- EKG and point-of-care (POC) testing experience.
- Patient scheduling and rooming.
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Attention to detail and patient-focused approach.
Certifications:
- BLS or CPR certification (required).
- Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Occupational Health settings.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
- Interest in health education and patient outreach initiatives.
