The Assistant Director of Clinical Operations serves as a leader in the College of Dental Medicine. The incumbent supports the strategic planning administration and daily management of clinical programs within the CDM Oral Health Center (OHC). This role ensures efficient clinic operations sufficient faculty for supervision of clinical education high-quality patient care regulatory compliance and an optimal learning environment for students residents and faculty. The position works closely with clinical leadership academic leadership and administrative teams to align clinical services with KCU CDMs mission.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for Integrated Biomedical and Clinical Sciences Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Integrated Learning CDM Administration clinical faculty and staff to provide care for patients at the OHC;
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Oral Health Center including monitoring patient flow scheduling efficiency and clinic utilization;
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve clinical education & performance;
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with faculty and team members regarding patient care goals operational activities and issues staff feedback and concerns and problem-solving regarding patient care for medically complex patients;
Participate in annual operational budgeting process and effectively manage resources to achieve objectives within established budget parameters;
Identify and recommend to CDM Leadership Team improvements for process and productivity initiatives designed to improve patient care and clinical education;
Serve as a role model and mentor for students and faculty for clinical skills education when caring for OHC patients;
Assist in the education and calibration of faculty and team members for clinic policy and procedures on management of dental patients;
Support accreditation processes and maintain readiness for site visits;
Supervise clinical auxiliary personnel;
Optimize use of OHC resources equipment and supplies;
Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Participate in various KCU Committees and CDM Committees as required.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Dental Medicine or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with experience in dental practice including direct patient care and the operations associated with caring for medically complex patients;
Organizational skills necessary to coordinate all aspects clinical operations;
Knowledgeable and able to use an electronic dental record practice management systems and various computer applications such as Microsoft Office;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal customer service and communication skills to create a positive and caring clinical environment;
Hold a Missouri dental license or have the qualifications to obtain one.
