The Head Coach of Mens Basketball is responsible for the overall leadership direction and management of the mens basketball program. This includes coaching recruiting player development program administration and ensuring compliance with NCAA and university policies. The coach serves as a mentor to student-athletes promotes academic achievement and represents the university in the community.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement competitive basketball strategies practices and game plans that align with the universitys goals and values.
  • Recruit evaluate and sign prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA conference and institutional regulations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes on and off the court emphasizing academic success sportsmanship and personal development.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the mens basketball program including scheduling budgeting travel and equipment.
  • Hire train and supervise assistant coaches trainers and support staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all NCAA conference and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Foster a positive team culture and promote community engagement through outreach and events.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the mens basketball program to the university alumni media and public.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director and other university officials to advance the goals of the athletics department.


Education

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution; Masters degree preferred.
  • Significant coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level with demonstrated success in mens basketball.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and extensive travel.
