Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Machine Setters to ensure that production line equipment
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Set up production machines according to SOPs
- Configure machines for correct product formats packaging sizes and fill parameters
- Execute efficient changeovers between production runs to minimise downtime
- Ensure machines are correctly prepared before the start of production
- Adjust machine settings to maintain required production output and efficiency
- Identify early signs of machine performance issues
- Perform basic troubleshooting related to machine setup and process settings
- Escalate mechanical electrical or complex faults to the Machine Technician
- Maintain critical parameters such as fill levels sealing torque and process settings
- Ensure compliance with GMP safety procedures and 5S standards
Requirements
- 25 years experience in a machine setting or production environment
- Experience in FMCG or cosmetic manufacturing preferred
- Proven experience in machine setup changeovers and adjustments
- Experience working in a GMP-controlled environment advantageous
- Matric / Grade 12
- Technical qualification (advantageous)
- Experience in cosmetics or FMCG production (advantageous)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong discipline in following SOPs
KNOWLEDGE
- Production equipment operation and machine setting principles
- Machine adjustment troubleshooting and process optimisation
- Understanding of production processes and performance monitoring
- Knowledge of GMP hygiene and safety standards
- Basic fault identification and escalation procedures
Required Skills:
Experience Required 35 years experience in a Call Centre Aftersales or Customer Operations environment Minimum 2 years experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role Proven experience managing KPIs and service performance Experience handling escalations and operational problem-solving Experience working cross-functionally in high-volume service environments Knowledge & Skills Call Centre operations and SLA management Aftersales workflows and ticket lifecycle management KPI management (Answer Rate Abandonment FCR QA Backlog Ageing) Workforce planning and operational capacity balancing Operational reporting and data interpretation CRM systems and digital service platforms Additional Advantages Diploma or Degree in Business Operations Customer Service or related field Leadership or management training Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Excellent communication and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in complex environments Structured and disciplined leadership style High emotional intelligence when managing escalations Strong commitment to delivering exceptional member service
