Job Summary
Category Manager Fresh Food Frozen & Dairy
Responsible for developing and managing a high-quality fresh food range that offers strong value to customers while ensuring sustainable business performance of key categories including Produce Meat Fish Poultry Dairy and Frozen foods.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead category strategy for Produce Meat Fish Poultry Dairy & Frozen
Develop product range pricing promotions and margin strategy
Deliver sales margin and stock targets across categories
Manage pricing to ensure competitiveness and value perception
Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships
Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers
Ensure consistent quality freshness and availability of products
Monitor performance (sales margin waste) and take corrective action
Work closely with operations and supply chain teams
Lead develop and manage a high-performing team
Candidate Profile
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership of results
Strong supplier negotiation and sourcing skills
Customer-focused and market-aware
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple categories and complexity
Leadership experience in team development and performance management
