Corporate Controller

About the Opportunity

Our client a large and well-established agriculture company based in Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead its accounting operations. This organization is a recognized leader in its industry with a strong commitment to operational excellence sustainability and continued growth.

The Corporate Controller will play a critical leadership role overseeing all accounting functions ensuring compliance and supporting strategic financial initiatives across the organization.

Position Summary

The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing the companys accounting operations including financial reporting internal controls compliance and team leadership. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support business decisions and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting function including general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and fixed assets
• Lead the preparation and timely delivery of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and all regulatory requirements
• Develop implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals fostering a high-performance culture
• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings
• Partner with FP&A and executive leadership on budgeting forecasting and strategic initiatives
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Support ERP optimization and financial system integrations
• Monitor cash flow working capital and financial performance metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership roles
• Experience in agriculture manufacturing food production or a related industry strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP financial reporting and internal controls
• Proven experience managing audits and working with external auditors
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
