Are you looking for a high-profile role leading a team to produce and manage workforce data insights and visualisations

If so the Strategic Resourcing Team within Social Security Scotlands People and Place directorate are looking for a Workforce Analytics this role you will manage the organisations workforce forecasting and data overseeing recruitment controls workforce governance delivery of key workforce reporting and strategic insights.

This role also plays a key part in embedding and maturing Social Security Scotlands new Oracle Cloud HR system and the organisations position management approach. With the system now fully launched the focus of this role is to optimise how position-based structures hierarchy and workforce data are managed across the agency. You will help refine processes strengthen data quality and consistency and ensure the position management model is consistently understood and applied supporting leaders to make informed decisions about their workforce.

You will work closely with the wider Strategic Resourcing team as well as finance colleagues and other key stakeholders across the agency.



Responsibilities

  • Deliver core organisational structure responsibilities including organisation structure updates job title amendments staff assignment flexing and system updates.
  • Provide system and process advisory support ensuring stakeholders understand and correctly apply position management and structure related processes within Oracle.
  • Integrate complex data sets from multiple sources ensuring the data is cleaned structured and ready for use. Turn this into meaningful reports forecasts and insights using advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Power Query and Power BI.
  • Create design and develop complex workforce reports and insights that inform senior leaders on the size and shape of the workforce helping identify emerging resourcing challenges and driving strategic conversations at the highest levels.
  • Support the maintenance of the organisations establishment control document (ECD) ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial reporting cycles.
  • Partner with finance leadership and key business areas to ensure workforce planning outputs support accurate financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with operational divisions to interpret resource modelling insights understand workforce risks and provide tailored advice on future workforce requirements.
  • Provide line management and technical support to B2 Workforce Analytics Specialists supporting their development performance and wellbeing.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location which will be either Glasgow or Dundee. This role is only available to existing permanent civil servants who have successfully completed their probation period within Social Security Scotland or the broader Scottish Government.
