Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Service Delivery EUTC the Jordans Principle Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting First Nation children and families by assisting with application processes client documentation and coordination with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). The coordinator plays a key role in ensuring timely accurate submissions and maintaining consistent communication with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist First Nation clients and families with completion and submission of Jordans Principle request forms and required documentation.
  • Liaise with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to follow up on application status requests for additional information and approvals.
  • Maintain regular and clear communication with clients and families regarding application progress and next steps.
  • Ensure all client files are complete accurate and maintained in accordance with PHIA and organizational standards.
  • Support families in understanding available supports services and eligibility under Jordans Principle.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and external partners to gather required documentation (medical educational assessments etc.).
  • Track and monitor application timelines to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups.
  • Maintain detailed case notes records and reporting data for program tracking and funder requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with First Nation communities service providers and government partners.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Social Work Human Services Indigenous Studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and 2-3 years of direct experience working with First Nation communities and/or social service programs will be considered.
  • Experience working with Jordans Principle or similar government-funded programs is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of First Nation communities cultures and socio-economic realities.
  • Knowledge of available health social and community resources for First Nations individuals.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of PHIA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required.
  • Fluency in a First Nations language is considered an asset.
  • Must adhere to organizational policies procedures and professional ethics.
  • Must provide a current clear criminal record check and child abuse check.
