Job Summary
Category Manager Bakery & Hot Food
Responsible for developing and managing a high-quality fresh food range that offers strong value to customers while ensuring sustainable business performance of key categories of prepared food.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead category strategy for prepared food (Bakery Hot Food Pizza Sushi etc.)
Develop innovative and customer-focused product ranges and menus
Deliver sales margin and stock targets
Manage recipe costing and portion control for profitability
Build and manage supplier and ingredient sourcing partnerships
Negotiate supplier agreements and manage performance
Ensure high standards in product quality freshness and presentation
Define and maintain merchandising and in-store execution standards
Monitor performance and optimize range pricing and promotions
Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team
Candidate Profile
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Experience in prepared food / FMCG / retail categories
Strong understanding of product development and food trends
Ability to manage costing margins and supplier performance
Customer-focused with strong market insight
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Action-oriented and results-driven
Resilient and adaptable in a dynamic environment
