About the role
We are looking for a Category Specialist to join the growing team on a permanent full-time basis.
As our Category Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the National Crop Protection Manager in managing the product category. The role contributes to the development and execution of the category strategies to ensure right product right price at the right time is delivered to our network. This includes defining the core range procuring product via optimised trading agreements and supplier relationships and maximising margin by implementing associated programs and campaigns including stewardship promotions and pricing. The role will assist in driving sales activity in both retail business and key customers accounts via a measure to manage approach.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to retail strategy business planning and growth initiatives for key crop protection products
- Align with Marketing Regional and Technical teams to ensure consistent execution of strategy
- Support strategic initiatives such as backward integration across the business
- Manage product ranging and supplier strategy in collaboration with senior and regional managers
- Participate in supplier negotiations and build programs to drive growth and profitability
- Oversee pricing strategies including reviews updates and implementation across product lines
- Plan execute and evaluate promotional campaigns while managing supplier funding effectively
- Collaborate within the team ensuring cost-effective solutions clear communication and contribution to broader business goals
About you
- Full unrestricted drivers licence
- 3 years experience across sales category procurement or product/portfolio management
- Strong commercial acumen including pricing margin optimisation supplier negotiation and forecasting
- Solid understanding of retail and branch network distribution
- Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
- Highly organised with strong planning prioritisation and time management abilities
- Proven problem-solving skills with experience in agribusiness crop protection or agricultural products
- Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture or a related Agribusiness discipline (desirable)
- Experience with digital procurement systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) and understanding of regulatory compliance chemical stewardship and product integrity (desirable)
