Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Electrical Foreman or designate performs skilled electrical work at the journeyman level in installing constructing altering repairing maintaining and servicing electrical equipment and systems. Operates and maintains building systems and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 10 plus two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of BC.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
