Role Summary and Impact

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Planning Manager to take on a role within our Singapore team working for a globally renowned leader in the luxury beauty industry celebrated for its heritage of prestige skincare makeup and fragrance. You will take ownership of integrated media planning and client servicing for the Travel Retail business unit across key APAC markets working closely with global teams to deliver best-in-class performance-driven campaigns. Beyond core planning duties you will proactively identify opportunities for campaign optimization and innovation within the Travel Retail beauty category. We are seeking a confident media professional who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence capable of managing day-to-day campaign workflows campaign planning and excellent coordination with travel retail partners data partners and activation teams across local markets and particularly in China.

Skills and Experience

What you will do:

  • Integrated Media Strategy & Planning:Develop comprehensive insight-driven media plans across key APAC markets spanning both digital and traditional channels. Drawing from brand strategy you will ensure plans are rooted in consumer understanding and aligned to business objectives encompassing both Brand and Performance media across OTA platforms on-platform Search Social Programmatic airport DOOH in-flight magazines and online-to-offline activations
  • Campaign Excellence & Execution Oversight:Accountable for campaign execution by Activation Teams ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of digital campaign requirements. Drive rigour and set expectations of accuracy for campaign tracking performance optimisation and delivery standards.
  • Reporting:Own the creation of in-flight and post-campaign reporting delivering clear and actionable performance insights to the client.
  • Client Leadership & Stakeholder Management:Serve as a day-to-day client contact building trusted relationships with Travel Retail clients. Take part in client conversations presenting media plans performance updates and new opportunities with clarity.
  • Market & Cross-Function Collaboration:Build collaborative partnerships with local WPP Media teams across APAC markets for local market activation particularly with the activation team based in China. Manage cross-functional relationships effectively to deliver day to day outputs.
  • Retail & OTA Partner Collaboration:Drive effective collaboration with both retail and Online Travel Agency (OTA) partners for campaign planning audience activation and technical integrations for seamless tracking. Proactively engage in troubleshooting with partner while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Innovation & Thought Leadership:Work with the Travel Retail lead to proactively bring forward-thinking ideas such as platform innovations first-to-market activations and new partners to the client. Work in partnership with media partners and local teams to develop these ideas
  • Account Operations & Commercial Management:Oversee smooth account operations including adherence to globally defined media thresholds sufficiency exercises PO trackers monthly billing inputs and reporting cadences.

Measures of Success:

In 3 Months:

  • Establish relationships with Travel Retail client contacts internal teams and key partners.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the clients business brand portfolio media approach and historical campaign performance across APAC markets.
  • Successful execution of media plans and campaign execution without disruption following transition from incumbent agencies.
  • Ensure robust KPI-setting and tracking frameworks are in place across all active campaigns.

In 6 Months:

  • Take ownership of media planning and client servicing for key campaigns working with the Travel Retail Client Lead for client conversations and presentations.
  • Drive proactive insight-led strategies that enhance campaign performance and unlock new growth opportunities across the range of Travel Retail campaigns.
  • Demonstrate early people leadership actively supporting the development of junior team members.

In 12 Months:

  • Deliver best-in-class client servicing evidenced by strong client satisfaction and positive feedback during bi-annual ratings.
  • Be recognised as a contributor on the account with a track record of proactive support and measurable campaign impact.

What you will need:

  • At least 5 years of media planning experience with a strong track record in integrated digital and traditional media planning within a media agency environment.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and experience with the Chinese media landscape is an advantage due to the clients youll be working with in the role.
  • Working knowledge of digital media platforms including paid social (Meta TikTok) search (Google) and programmatic; offline media knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role ideally within a multi-market APAC environment.
  • Planning acumen with the ability to develop insight-driven media strategies aligned to client business objectives.
  • Excellent organisational operational and numeracy skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Clarity in written and spoken communication.
  • A proactive solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Early people leadership experience an advantage with a genuine interest in supporting junior team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including formulas) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
