Agriculture Specialist

What you can expect:

Preferred by Nature is looking for an Agriculture Specialist based in Thailand to join our growing Agriculture team. You will manage audit and administrate agriculture certification and verification services for a portfolio of clients in Thailand and South-East Asia covering schemes such as Rainforest Alliance RSPO UEBT Global GAP and SRP. Working closely with the Country Representative Thailand and the Asia Pacific team you will deliver high-quality audits support client relationships and contribute to sales and market development efforts. This role is central to strengthening PBNs reputation as a market leader in sustainable agriculture certification services.

Working with us is never routine so in your first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.

• Conduct on-site and remote audits for assigned clients across relevant agriculture certification and verification schemes.

• Manage the full certification cycle from planning and scheduling through to reporting quality review and certification decisions.

• Maintain and update the certification and verification database for your assigned client portfolio.

• Deliver strong customer service and act as a reliable point of contact for current clients.

• Support sales and market development efforts including contributing to service proposals and client presentations.

• Ensure quality control and adherence to PBNs operational and certification protocols across all assigned work.

Your first year with us:

Within three months you will:

• Develop a solid understanding of PBNs mission agriculture certification portfolio and internal systems.

• Begin the auditor qualification process and shadow experienced auditors on site visits and evaluations.

• Build effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders across the Thailand and Asia Pacific team.

Within six months you will:

• Conduct audits independently for assigned clients and submit reports within specified quality and timeframe requirements.

• Act as point of contact for assigned clients managing scheduling scope and certification queries.

• Contribute to client proposals and sales activities alongside the Country Representative.

Within twelve months you will:

• Attain full qualifications as auditor quality reviewer and task manager across assigned certification schemes.

• Independently lead the full certification cycle and take on a growing share of market development activities in Thailand and South-East Asia.

• Deliver a reflective review of your first year and propose a personal development focus for the year ahead.

Important that you:

• Have at least 3 years of experience in the Palm Oil supply chain.

• Are familiar with agriculture certification and verification schemes.

• Are fluent in written and spoken English and Thai.

• Possess strong analytical and report-writing skills.

• Have good communication and client management skills.

• Are proficient in MS Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint.

Would also be great but not necessary if you:

• Hold qualifications as lead auditor for RSPO Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Rice Platform or similar schemes.

• Have experience working with smallholders and farming communities.
