Summary: Instructional Design Coaches will promote reflection provide guidance and structure where needed and focus on strengths collaboration and common issues of concern. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling co-planning co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. An Instructional Design Coach is a learner who models continuous improvement lifelong learning and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. The Instructional Design Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers in support of the school compass plan. This is not a supervisory position and does not include evaluation of colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop positive and supportive relationships with classroom teachers administrators and staff.
  • Support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels.
  • Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons the development of differentiated lessons and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
  • Develop each teachers capacity to serve as a model of high-quality instruction.
  • Develop coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.
  • Use analyze and reflect on formative assessment data to improve teaching and learning.
  • Utilize school PLC structures to support teachers with planning for high-impact learning experiences that are standards-based and integrate instructional shifts.
  • Utilize Adult Learning Theory to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice.
  • Provides support for instructional technology to facilitate a Blended Learning Model.
  • Provide direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with district initiatives and recognized best instructional practices.
  • Creates and delivers ongoing professional learning for teachers and school leaders
  • Assists staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective PBL instructional practices

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 years of successful teaching experience within a project-based setting OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum frameworks and standards
  • Experience in research-based instructional practices for project based learning
  • Ability to multitask manage large projects and adhere to deadlines
  • Knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogy
  • Knowledge and experience with design thinking
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in both formal and informal settings
  • Preferred experience with social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
  • Knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies that engage all students.
