Job Summary
- Patient Monitoring:Conduct continuous telemetry monitoring and expert assessments for complex medical-surgical post-surgical or stepdown cardiac patients.
- Clinical Care:Administer medications manage intravenous drips perform wound care and manage airways including prioritizing care for patients with high-acuity needs.
- Interdisciplinary Teamwork:Collaborate with doctors specialists and support staff to develop implement and update care plans.
- Safety & Advocacy:Ensure patient safety through precise documentation recognizing subtle condition changes and advocating for patient rights.
- Education:Educate patients and their families regarding disease management treatments and discharge planning.
Requirements:
- License:Active unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Virginia or compact state.
- Experience:Minimum 1-2 years of acute care experience preferably in a PCU Stepdown or ICU setting.
- Certifications:BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) are required. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is often required.
- Skills:Proficiency in EMR systems (such as Epic) and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Education:Diploma or Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN; BSN is often preferred).
