Lead strategic responses and create opportunities to promote volunteering to enhance social and economic pathways and participation ensuring the programs adhere to Councils Social Justice Charter principles.
What youll be doing:
- Facilitate promote and resource and local networks including the Hume Volunteer Gateway and Local Volunteer Coordinators network.
- Build strengthen and maintain professional relationships including collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance the capacity of community members to participate in social and economic volunteer opportunities.
- Ensure the Hume Volunteer Gateway portal and database is up to-date and stakeholders/users are provided with appropriate support and/or training in its use.
- Provide a coordinated approach guidance and advice to a range of services and volunteer supervisors across Council to effectively manage volunteers build organisational capacity and alignment with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and legislative requirements. Respond to enquiries (including Hume Volunteer Gateway online platform) in a professional and timely manner.
- Actively and professionally represent Council at events expos and meetings as required.
- Develop review and maintain information tools and resources including information on Councils website social and print media and intranet.
- Maintain income and expenditure records and submit annual budget estimates to be considered for inclusion in the annual department budget.
The skills and experience youll bring to the role:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in volunteer support and staff supervision and development practices including the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
- Demonstrated experience in working with sector stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to generate relationships pathways and opportunities for volunteering.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team including well developed project management skills planning time management and organisational skills.
- High level oral communication and presentation skills as well as sound written and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office software (specifically Word Excel Access PowerPoint and Outlook) Council programs such as InfoCouncil and TRIM and online meeting platforms including MS Teams and Zoom.
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences Community Development Community Engagement Volunteer Program Management or a related field or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience in a similar role.
- Current drivers licence and Working with Childrens Check card
