Job Summary
The PCU RN provides comprehensive care to patients who are too stable for the ICU but require more intensive nursing care than a general medical-surgical floor. You will monitor vital signs and telemetry manage complex medication regimens and perform quick interventions to prevent deterioration.

Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring:Perform detailed regular assessments of acutely ill patients and interpret specialized telemetry and diagnostic equipment data.
- Clinical Interventions:Initiate life-saving interventions manage cardiac drips and titrate medication doses.
- Care Planning:Develop implement and update nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Safety & Compliance:Maintain a safe therapeutic environment adhering to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Communication & Education:Provide education to patients and families regarding disease management and post-operative recovery.

Required Qualifications
- Education:Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Licensure:Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Experience:Minimum 1-2 years of experience in acute care preferably in PCU or ICU.
- Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.

- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
