Position Summary
MAG seeks a definitive source of knowledge from a Close Air Support SME who will contribute their expertise to enhance organizational efficiency.The candidatemust be a current and qualified fighter pilot with combat deployments and experience with SOF ground units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
- Candidates must be highly experienced and proficient in the close air support mission.
- The candidate will evaluate organizational needs determine suitable technical solutions and ensure defined requirements.
- Conduct classroom instruction to SOF JTACs on weaponeering airspace DE confliction measures and fighter aircraft capabilities.
- Conduct pre mission brief with Special Forces Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and MAG flight crew prior to conducting dry CAS missions.
- Conduct dry CAS missions from MAG aircraft simulating fighter aircraft but CAS SME will not pilot MAG aircraft.
- CAS SME will have video feed from on-board sensor and communicate with JTACs via tactical comms conducting NTISR Troops in Contact convoy escort and variations of tactical scenarios.
- CAS SME will attend post mission debriefs/After Action Reviews with SOF JTACs provide feedback on CAS controls discuss best practices and lessons learned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Current and qualified fighter pilot with combat deployments.
- Experience with SOF ground units.
- Combat Flying and CAS Mission Experience.
- The candidate must be highly experienced and proficient in the Close Air Support mission.
Education:
- Former Fighter Pilot School Graduate
- Formal Technical Training
Other Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret clearance

Special Note: The position is contingent upon candidates ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; including compliance with all applicable federal state and local jurisdictional requirements.
