Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Southfield MI (On-site)

What Youll Do

Payroll Processing & Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-site employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and validate timesheets PTO bonuses and adjustments prior to payroll submission.
  • Ensure proper calculation of wages overtime and deductions in compliance with federal and state laws.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations.
  • Manage payroll tax filings wage garnishments and deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2s and other required payroll reports.
  • Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Employee Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions and issues.
  • Resolve discrepancies and provide timely support to employees and managers.
  • Educate employees on payroll policies deductions and timekeeping processes.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and update employee payroll data in HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.

Timekeeping & Coordination

  • Monitor timekeeping systems for accuracy and compliance.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure timely submission and approval of hours.
  • Track and manage PTO accruals and usage.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 24 years of experience in payroll processing preferably in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll systems/HRIS (e.g. ADP Paychex UKG or similar).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or high-volume workforce environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance HR or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
