Job Description

Role Description (job purpose)

  • Governs and manages global external artwork service providers and is responsible for building and deploying Global Artwork supplier strategy
  • Governs and manages internal shared services for the artwork domain in terms of strategy and execution
  • Technical Lead Provides technical expertise & guidance on artwork and pre-print matters to the network
  • Governs and manages global artwork innovations & launches for STO
  • Maintains and monitors the portfolio of projects within the Artwork Community including defining new projects and establishing dedicated project teams.
  • Acts as Project Manager for complex and critical initiatives ensuring successful execution.

Number of associates:

Indirect: 100 (suppliers internal service providers internal service customers procurement partners internal country/site network for technical standards)

Financial responsibility:

Indirect impact of 10-100m USD

Impact on the organization:

High direct impact on supply security regulatory compliant implementation of artwork changes. Direct impact on patient safety exposure to liability and reputation management. High impact on sales resulting from product non-compliance.

Major Accountabilities

Supplier & Service Governance:

  • Leads and defines strategy for global artwork suppliers & shared services (e.g. HUB-based artwork change coordination as shared service for country organizations)
  • Responsible for governing global concept artworks for launches
  • Responsible for governing global innovations in artwork area
  • Responsible for designing the overall service capacity and resources planning
  • Responsible to manage relationship between global artwork suppliers service providers and Sandoz customers
  • Strategic alignment between internal stakeholders global artwork suppliers service providers
  • Enforces the adherence to guidelines and specifications (e.g. Artwork File Standard) provided to global artwork suppliers
  • Drives transparent communication among all stakeholders

Quality & Compliance:

  • Expert in regulatory and commercial requirements to pharma artwork industry to ensure compliance of service provided by global artwork suppliers
  • Ensures integration of all internal and external regulatory requirements commercial requirements and best practice findings into business collaboration
  • Leads projects for compliance and improvements
  • Ensure contractual complaint setup
  • Supports supplier audits certification and investigation/resolution of quality issues
  • Creates and shares KPIs to ensure service quality

Standards and Harmonization:

  • Providing and informing about existing and new global artwork standards
  • Ensure effective supplier management and continuous service
  • Manage forecast data

Contracts & Documentation:

  • Owns and maintains contracts with global artwork suppliers
  • Supports local functions with creation of Quality Agreements
  • Creates and maintains KPIs dashboard

Internal & External Communication:

  • Proactively manage communication with stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate communication and alignment with other impacted business areas
  • Early evaluation of potential issues (backlogs capacity quality deviations etc.) to ensure service continuity

Technical Expertise & Guidance:

  • Oversee technical artwork industry trends standards new developments and assesses applicability for business
  • Provides technical expertise & guidance on artwork and pre-print matters to the artwork network
  • Evaluates major lifecycle events and aligns related artwork requirements with concerned internal and external functions (e.g. for acquisitions & divestments serialization & product tracking branding)
  • Proactively manages related global technical documentation / instructions / communications
  • Supports artwork implementation for major global product launches (e.g. design mock-ups pack shots guidelines)

Success Factors

  • Success is assessed by evaluating associated accomplishments on targets and goals (e.g. artwork supplier strategy developed & implemented risk identified reduced or removed actions identified implemented process improvements implemented processes aligned across functions savings generated etc.).
  • The supplier & service strategy were implemented stable and the product (artwork) quality is sound evidenced by global operational Key Performance Indicators (e.g. timelines) and Key Quality Indicators (e.g. incidents recalls major/critical deviations) audits (no findings or minor findings) etc.

Ideal Background

Education:

Higher or business relevant education is preferably in the area of quality compliance regulatory artwork/packaging design or supply chain.

Languages:

Essential: English fluent (written and spoken) further languages a plus

Expected / Desirable Professional Experience:

  • min. 7 years of experience in regulatory labelling management or artwork management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Project management and/or global process governance experience.
  • Experience in holding a global position.
  • Global project experience.
  • Management experience of both direct management and matrix environments.
  • Crossfunctional experience (e.g. Regulatory Affairs QA Marketing).

  • Lateral thinking & analytical skills: able to analyze and understand inter-related processes issues requirements and dependencies to implement effective measures for process quality compliance and continuous improvements
  • Collaboration: able to negotiate across functions and roles with diplomacy and assertiveness as needed listening and conveying conclusions with speed and clarity
  • Compensation Structure & Criteria:
  • Sandoz compensation is determined by job level qualifications niche skills experience and location within company salary ranges. Fully proficient and highly effective employees can expect a starting salary around market median with those new to the level or with less functional depth at the lower end of the range and those with sustained superior or niche skills towards the higher end of the range. Internal equity and external market data inform our range placement. Annual salary reviews consider performance outcomes market alignment and business needs.

  • Work mode: hybrid
  • Pay range (monthly salary): zł/gross 17 617 - 32 716
  • Variable compensation:
  • - Annual performance-based bonus: 18%
