Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven strategic Chief Commercial Officer to lead the companys commercial function across sales marketing distribution and revenue growth. The CCO will develop and execute go-to-market strategies across all product lines build distribution depth in the domestic market and position the Group for regional export success.
This role requires a leader who can operate with strategic clarity across a multi-product portfolio while driving execution at scale in Nigerias dynamic FMCG and agro-industrial landscape.
Tasks
COMMERCIAL STRATEGY & REVENUE GROWTH
- Develop and execute the companys overall commercial strategy across all 10 product lines and business units
- Drive revenue growth across food beverages oils seafood water and other categories
- Identify new market opportunities distribution partnerships and export revenue streams
- Establish pricing strategies and revenue models suited to each product category and channel
SALES & DISTRIBUTION LEADERSHIP
- Build and lead the sales function including field sales B2B wholesale and retail distribution channels
- Develop and expand distribution networks across Akwa Ibom South-South and national markets
- Oversee key accounts institutional buyers and strategic trade partners
- Ensure consistent product availability and market penetration across the portfolio
EXPORT & REGIONAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT
- Lead market entry strategy for ECOWAS and AfCFTA export markets particularly for shelf-stable products (flours oils spices seafood)
- Develop export-ready commercial frameworks including pricing compliance documentation and partner selection
- Position the Group as a reliable regional supplier capable of consistent quality and volume
MARKETING & BRAND GROWTH
- Oversee marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and customer acquisition across product lines
- Guide digital marketing product positioning and promotional campaigns
- Ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and sales objectives
CUSTOMER & MARKET INSIGHTS
- Analyse market trends customer behaviour and competitor activity across each product category
- Use insights to refine commercial strategies product positioning and pricing
- Drive customer-centric decision-making across the organisation
TEAM LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE
- Build and manage high-performing sales and marketing teams
- Set clear targets KPIs and performance metrics by product line and channel
- Foster a culture of accountability innovation and results
PARTNERSHIPS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Establish strategic partnerships with distributors retailers institutional buyers and export agents
- Lead commercial negotiations and partnership agreements
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing & Production Council on demand-supply alignment and seasonal planning
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing Economics or a related field
- MBA or advanced degree is an advantage
- Minimum 812 years experience in sales marketing or commercial leadership
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion in multi-product environments
- Experience in FMCG food production agro-processing or distribution is highly preferred
- Exposure to export markets or regional trade (ECOWAS/AfCFTA) is a significant advantage
